If it’s feeling hot out there it’s probably because the campaign is heating up. Early voting began June 29 and we’ve been hittin’ the pavement, knockin’ on doors and delivering lawn signs like crazy. There’s a blue wave spreading across Ward 4 and moving throughout the city and it sure is catching!
If you don’t have your lawn sign yet, let us know and we’re happy to deliver. sign up for a lawn sign here Bruce, our Sign Captain, is hard to miss with his pickup truck plastered with signs and the extra-special one he decked out with flashing lights. Having him deliver your sign is worth it just for the fun experience of watching Bruce driving down the street. It’s like a mini-parade just for you.
July 4th we’ll be headquartered at Colossal Cafe, 2315 Como Avenue, in Saint Anthony Park. Shirley and volunteers in “Shirley Shirts” will be mingling with the crowd beginning at 9:00am. Shirley will make a point to be outside Colossal Cafe every two hours, so if she is engaged in conversation in the park or elsewhere, she’ll make her way back to the Cafe at 11:00, 1:00, and 3:00. Come on over and say, “howdy”. If you’d like to volunteer, sign up here.
July 7, 4:00-7:00, we’ll be in Newell Park, 900 Fairview Avenue North. Join us for the “Vote Early for Shirley” rally. Continue your Independence Day celebration by hearing from Shirley, an independent thinker willing to stand up and ask tough questions, roll up her sleeves, get to work, and get stuff done. Former St. Paul Mayor, George Latimer, will be our special guest. We’ll be joined by other speakers throughout the evening, including former Ward 4 aide to Council Member Jay Benanav and now City Council Member in Ward 7, Jane Prince. Live music, fun family games, Ward 4 trivia, a food truck, and everyone’s favorite, cake.
Our campaign team continues to grow. Please welcome our latest additions, Campaign Manager, Isaiah Sullivan, and 14-day-old Tori. Happy to have them both on board.
